Chain Analytics Experts Discuss Blockchain Risks, Opportunities, and Compliance at GITEX Global 2022

Dubai, United Arab Emirates – As the UAE and other GCC countries support their quest to leverage blockchain technology to create a secure and transparent digital ecosystem, Chainalysis, the blockchain data platform, today announced its plans to participate in GITEX Global 2022 (stand Z4-L67), takes place in Dubai from October 10-14.

Through a series of panel discussions and keynote discussions as well as several ‘Lightning Talks’, Chainalysis will use the event to raise awareness and educate attendees about some of the most pressing challenges and opportunities that cryptocurrency, DeFi and other Web3 technologies present in the region.

As our co-founder Jonathan Levine rightly pointed out during his visit to the region earlier this year, the UAE has the opportunity to set an example for other countries when it comes to creating a cryptocurrency hub. As this is still a fairly young niche, realizing this ambition will require a significant focus on regulation, built on a deep understanding of the underlying blockchain technology,” said Bas Lemmens, International General Manager, Chainalysis. Across the world, over the five days at GITEX Global, we will focus on educating all stakeholders – from government entities and private sector enterprises, to ordinary consumers – about the fundamentals of blockchain technology.”

The company will participate in two main panel discussions hosted by the organizers of the Future Blockchain Summit, which will be held on the sidelines of GITEX Global. here they are:

  • Panel Discussion on the Evolution of Virtual Asset Regulations with Amardeep Thandi, Director, Head of EMEA Compliance Regulation, Chainalysis

Monday, October 10, 12:15 p.m. on the exchange platform

  • Presentation on the Promises and Perils of Web3 by Diederik van Wersch – Mid-Market Manager EMEA, Chainalysis and Shailendra Sadh – Consulting Solution Architect, Chain Analysis

Wednesday October 12th at 1:00 pm at Block Theater

Chainalysis will also host the following sessions in its private suite located in Zabeel Hall (Z4-L67):

  • Peek at Tracking Cryptocurrency Transactions at Large by Shailendra Sadh, Consulting Solution Architect, Chainalysis

Tuesday, October 11 at 1:00 p.m.

  • Compliance 101 for Financial Services and Cryptocurrency Owners by Amardeep Thandi, Crypto Regulation and Compliance Lead EMEA, Chainalysis

Wednesday, October 12, 2:00 p.m.

  • Web 3 – Promises and Pitfalls By Diederik van Weersch – EMEA Mid-Market Manager, Chain Analysis

Thursday, October 13, 1:00 p.m.

Visitors to the Chainalysis platform will get the first opportunity in the region to experience live demonstrations of Chainalysis Storyline, Web3’s original blockchain analysis tool, designed to visualize smart contract transactions, including DeFi and NFTs. With funds stolen from DeFi protocols accounting for 96% of the $2.28 billion worth of cryptocurrency stolen in security breaches and code exploits so far this year, Chainalysis Storyline addresses an urgent need, paving the way for building consumer confidence and trust in the underlying technology. With this solution, regulators and law enforcement agencies can get a comprehensive view of the movements of funds as they are handled across the blockchain, and identify the transactions and funds that are most important to them.

Backed by strong government support, the region is arguably one of the most dynamic and rapidly growing crypto economies globally. Whether it is through a recent MoU with the UAE government to train public sector employees, or by providing our technology to private sector entities looking to build crypto hubs, we are committed to providing the tools that can help shape the digital future of the region. We are excited about the opportunity to showcase our expertise and technology at GITEX Global, and look forward to strengthening our relationships with key regional stakeholders.”
