Milkomeda paves the way for Blockchain growth and interoperability with launch of EVM-based A1 in Algorand

MelcomedaToday they launched the A1 Rollup, a unique interoperability solution, on the Algorand mainnet.

On the heels of Algorand SupaGrant’s recent award of EVM capabilities, Milkomeda delivers on its promise and launches the A1 Rollup to realize a new vision for blockchain interoperability. A1 Rollup is a layer 2 solution based on an EVM (Ethereum Virtual Machine) that exposes the Algorand ecosystem and its users to hundreds of thousands of developers writing in Solidity, the world’s most popular smart contract language.

The launch of A1 Rollup on Algorand greatly enhances both user and developer dependence on Algorand, whereby developers from the Ethereum ecosystem can, for the first time ever, easily deploy their applications, tools and infrastructure to Algorand users – at the same time expanding into a new market and increasing diversity dApps available to the Algorand community.

“I am happy to see the launch of Milkomeda in Algorand,” he said. John Woods, Algorand CTO Foundation. “Now every project running on Ethereum can come and publish on Algorand without friction. I think when projects realize how great the user experience is on Algorand (fast, cheap and powerful!) they will see that it provides a best-in-class experience for its users.”

It uses A1 Rollup laminated ALGOs (milkALGOs) as its base currency, simplifying and streamlining the setup process for Algorand users. Using the Milkomeda Bridge without permission, users roll ALGO and other Algorand Originals (ASAs) into an A1 Rollup in just a few simple steps. This then enables them to use milkALGOs to interact with EVM-based dApps deployed in the A1 Rollup.

“Developers now have the opportunity to more easily jump into the Algorand ecosystem, while also enjoying the many benefits of Algorand as the primary layer 1 blockchain,” he said. Robert KornakiDirector of the Milkomeda Foundation. “One of these benefits, the immediate final, enables dApps to have smoother end-to-end flows in a way that has not been possible before in any existing blockchains on the competing L1 blockchain. We are excited to be a part of the Algorand ecosystem with the launch of A1, and we look forward to seeing how each one jumps in. From existing and new developers to A1 and start building new infrastructure to take the Algorand ecosystem to the next level.”

Milkomeda’s long-term vision for Algorand will take several major steps forward including adding support for multiple VMs, improving performance and interoperability, and creating a seamless user experience when interacting with L2 dApps for all Algorand users. In order to realize this vision, Milkomeda has developed a multi-year roadmap and recently completed another round of financing. The 3.1 million USD The tour was led by Archetype and also included Sora Ventures and the Algorand Foundation.
